"Excellence in Wisconsin Assisted Living
Through Internal Quality Improvement"

Music & Memory plus iPads for Assisted Living

The grant will implement Music & MemorySM in six Wisconsin based Assisted Living Communities (ALCs). Music & MemorySM uses iPod technology to provide customized play lists for individuals with dementia. In addition to the use of iPods, iPads will be introduced and evaluated in each of the six ALCs. An evaluation of the initiative will examine the impact of iPod and iPad technology on resident agitation and quality of life and the use of antipsychotic medications. Findings from this pilot study will potentially be utilized to seek additional funding to expand the implementation of Music & MemorySM in Wisconsin Assisted Living Communities.
