The Center for Health Systems Research and Analysis (CHSRA) was a University of Wisconsin-Madison research center formed in 1973 as a collaboration between Industrial Engineering and Preventive Medicine. For over 40 years CHSRA researchers worked to improve the quality of health and long term care through research.
As of June 30, 2019 CHSRA has closed, some of the projects below have been relocated to other departments in the University.

Our proven skill set includes project management and financial oversight of the entire research life cycle of: conceptualization, research design, data collection & management, statistical analysis and reporting / communication. We are experienced dissemination and implementation researchers who apply health systems and human factors engineering principles to conduct innovative patient centered research to improve processes of care in behavior, community and long-term care providers.
ORBS was a Medicaid nursing home cost reporting system developed by CHSRA for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). When CHSRA closed, management of ORBS was transferred to Forward Data Analytic Services (FDAS), LLC under a contract between FDAS, the UW and WI DHS. A new cost reporting system managed by Myers and Stauffer, LC, replaced ORBS in late 2021.

The Crash Outcome Data Evaluation System (CODES) is a collaborative approach to obtain medical and financial outcome information related to motor vehicle crashes for highway safety and injury control decision making.
